Mean Mauri has been working the radio and TV circuit for the past fifteen years he has established himself as both a well-recognized and highly respected celebrity. At a young age he began his radio career at KNON, a community radio station in Dallas. From there, Mean Mauri went on to do his first morning show on KICK-FM in Dallas and then held a #6 Arbitron ranking in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex with CASA 106.7FM. When CASA eventually changed formats, Mean Mauri’s first concern was his fans. Not wanting to let them down, Mean Mauri held his crew together and continued the show themselves online. Their online streaming radio station, which was anchored by their popular morning show, went on to regularly draw over 100,000 listeners from across the country in a single 24-hour period.Now Mean Mauri can be heard in Waco,Texas on Power 108 with strong hopes to syndicate thru the southwest and beyond. Mean Mauri’s fame and popularity does not end with radio. In 1992, Mean Mauri began hosting and producing his own television show. Thanks to his massive and loyal following, it quickly became the second highest rated show in the Spanish market and remains there to this day.
In his personal life he finds time to devote to various charities, his family which has always come first.
Mean Mauri’s characters have become his comedic trademark. From Sally and her over the top, soulful, gossip-crazed sister, to Dr. Love’s no-good love advice and Popo’s crazy antics and hysterical rants. Mean Mauri’s fan base covers a broad range -from the very young to the very old.
Along with his television and radio shows, Mean Mauri is also a producer and director at Dirty Dozen Productions in Dallas, Tx. Currently he is writing a script for a movie called “Body Shop.”
